Researchers have given mice a boost at the Salk Institute, noting that the mice which received an “exercise in a pill” like drug ran on the treadmill 70% longer than those who did not receive the pill. The pill works by stimulating the PPARD gene. Researchers are hoping to translate these findings into a drug for those who may be unable to exercise due to old age or mobility as well as those trying to lose weight.
