A thirty-year old asthma treatment is being re-introduced as a medication for type-2 diabetes. The anti-inflammatory, Amlexanox, was originally created in Japan in the 1980s. After much testing, a team of researchers at the University of California San Diego have concluded that the medication may be a breakthrough for obese patients living with type-2 diabetes.
