The US medical device market is expected to reach $133 billion by 2016, and as such, manufacturers will continue to diversify product portfolios in a growing and promising market. With diversification comes product silos that in turn can cause shortcomings as medical device companies continue to expand portfolios and product management executives become increasingly passionate about a technology on an individual basis. Multidimensional project assessment and application of practical tools as a means to break down silos and drive collaboration across products will assist product managers in achieving efficient, comprehensive and collaborative portfolios.
