Opportunities in Direct to Patient Marketing for Medical Devices
For many medical device corporations, there is significant opportunity available in the area of direct-to-patient marketing, where medical device companies can connect directly with patients who will in turn speak to their physicians and surgeons regarding specific products. While this type of marketing can often result in higher yielding sales campaigns, there are also a variety of challenges every medical device company must overcome. They key to a successful direct to patient marketing campaign is to design a strategy that will reach the targeted audience, while maintaining regulatory compliance and getting the return of investment that companies are looking for. This presentation will address a variety of issues, including:
- Recognizing the risks associated with DTP marketing
- The main challenges medical device companies face when doing DTP marketing
- finding the potential audience
- using DTP marketing as opposed to DTC marketing
- ensuring FDA/FTC compliance
- ensure return on investment and how to measure
- creating a campaign with minimal barriers
- Utilization of new media partners to reach your target audience
