Recognizing Opportunities and Challenges within Global Supply Chains in Order to Streamline Operational and Logistical Barriers to Reducing Costs and Time to Market in an Increasingly Challenging Environment

May 3-4, 2010
Chicago, IL

About the Conference

During the economic downturn of the past two years, many organizations have undertaken a certain level of belt-tightening as they work towards weathering increasingly uncertain times. Throughout entire corporations, expenses are being analyzed to determine areas of unnecessary spending and opportunities to reduce costs. Naturally, executive boards have then turned all eyes to their heads of supply chain.

Tasked with handling end-to-end procurement, transportation, forecasting and fulfillment, heads of supply chain are perhaps more in-tune with spending than any other team within the corporation. A vital contributor to the overall smooth-running corporation, they are also integral in understanding where and how funds are allocated and spent. It is no surprise then, that when looking at reducing spending across the organization, executive boards look to heads of supply chain for answers.

Although there are many new technologies that have been deployed over the past ten years which have revolutionized operations for all types of corporations, supply chain executives report that they are less interested in learning about new technologies as compared to learning how to better utilize and prove return on investment for products already integrated into their systems.

This supply chain conference program will provide executives with an opportunity to have frank dialogue with industry peers on the state of the industry and creative solutions that can be implemented in order to streamline operating costs. For most organizations, adjusting to making more from less has been a stark reality; and even for companies flourishing during this time, understanding how to work with suppliers and buyers that are perhaps not in as strong a financial position is critical to maintaining a successful position
